Q: I've heard that NAU students have to turn in proof of immunization. Does that apply to the CCC2NAU program?

    A. For CCC2NAU, the documentation is not required before admission or first registration. However, in order to take an NAU class on the Flagstaff campus and to receive your NAU JacksCard you will need to turn in the proof of immunizations. Doing so early in the program will make it easier for you later. As a participant of the CCC2NAU program you are effectively an NAU student, meaning that all NAU policies apply to you when enrolled in classes or accessing services on the university campus. For most people, proof of immunization is on their high school transcripts, so be sure to turn those in. See more information on immunization requirements at
    http://www.nau.edu/fronske/immunizations.htm

Q: Where can I get the JacksCard?

    A. The NAU student ID card, called the JacksCard, is used to access a variety of facilities and privileges. The fee for the JacksCard is waived for all CCC2NAU participants. To receive your card make sure you have provide NAU Fronkse Health Center with immunization records to have your measles hold removed. Visit your CCC2NAU advisor for instructions on how to obtain your JacksCard. For more information on the JacksCard visit http://home.nau.edu/naucard/default.asp.

Q: What dining options are available?

    A. You can purchase a Meal Plan or Dining Dollar plan that allows you to use any of the dining facilities on NAU campus. Dining Dollar plan funds are deposited into an account on your JacksCard for use in the retail dining facilities across campus or to use at the all-you-care-to-eat facilities by paying the door price. A Meal Plan is used in the all-you-care-to-eat facilities in the du Bois Center and the University Union. Meals on a meal plan can also be “exchanged” for selected products at retail outlets. No tax is charged on the Dining Dollar purchases and unused balances do not carry forward to the next academic year. CCC food services vary by location. The Lone Tree campus has a cafeteria. Vending machines are located at a variety of places. More information on NAU dining can be found at http://www.nau.edu/dining/.

Funds in the account are accessed with your JacksCard (university ID card). JDE is a convenient way for students to make purchases without carrying cash and for parents to fund school-related expenses from home.

Q: What leadership opportunities are available? Can I be a student government officer at NAU or CCC?

    A. Student leadership roles in NAU student organizations are limited to enrolled university students. In order to represent and hold office in any NAU registered organization a student must be registered for a minimum of seven hours (at NAU) , and must have a minimum grade point average of 2.25 for all courses completed at the university. A. FERPA is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. It regulates what information about a student NAU or CCC can share with any other person or institution. Students in the CCC2NAU program sign a Participant Agreement permitting NAU and CCC to share information appropriate to the program. CCC and NAU will share all academic information and student information (student conduct information would not normally be shared unless it is relevant to the safety and well-being of both institutions).

Q: Will disability information be shared between CCC and NAU?

    A. Yes, with your permission. This will save you from having to re-document your disability and your accommodation needs.

    A. CCC rules apply to CCC courses. NAU rules apply to NAU courses.

Q: NAU and CCC have some differences in their student codes of conduct. Whose do I follow?

    A. When at CCC, follow CCC’s code of conduct. When at NAU, follow NAU’s code. The two codes are fairly similar in that they provide clear definitions, outline conduct procedures, hold students accountable for their behavior, and describe the potential consequences for misbehavior. NAU’s Student Code of Conduct can be found at http://www4.nau.edu/stulife/handbookcode.htm. CCC’s code of conduct can be found at http://www.coconino.edu/policies-and-procedures/503.htm and http://www.coconino.edu/policies-and-procedures/503-01Rev04.htm.

Q: I have to show I’m legally present in the U.S. for Proposition 300. Will I need to show that same information again at NAU?

    A. No. CCC will share documentation with NAU so that you do not need to do the full process again. Both NAU and CCC follow the same state laws relating to Proposition 300.

Q: If CCC determines I am a legal resident of Arizona for tuition purposes, do I have to prove my residency again at NAU?

    A. No. CCC will share documentation with NAU so that you do not need to do the full process again. Both NAU and CCC follow the same state laws relating to residency for tuition purposes.

Q: Which institution maintains my official transcripts and other records?

    A. At this time, CCC maintains the official records for CCC courses, financial aid, etc. NAU maintains the official records for courses and NAU matters. A method of joint transcripts may emerge in the future.

Q: Where do I file for graduation?

    A. File at CCC for CCC degrees, certificates and credentials. File at NAU for NAU degrees. Be sure to observe both institutions’ deadlines.

Q: I may transfer to NAU before I complete my CCC degree. Can I transfer my NAU credits back to CCC and use them to complete my CCC degree?

    A. Yes. This process is called reverse transfer and you should take advantage of it. You can use it for degrees and certificates at CCC. Each credential you can add to your resume makes you more competitive for employment and other opportunities. In some cases, completion of the CCC degree—even after you have transitioned to NAU—may exempt you from some course requirements. Once your CCC degree is approved, be sure to inform your adviser and ask CCC to officially notify NAU or your completion. Of course the courses transferred to CCC must be acceptable to meet the CCC degree or certificate requirements.

Q: What is my tuition rate?

    A. It is the CCC rate when taking CCC courses. It is the NAU rate when taking NAU courses. The first-year-experience, one-credit course—Bridge to NAU required by the CCC2NAU program is tuition-free.

Q: I’ve heard about NAU’s block tuition. If I start this program, will it “lock in” the current NAU tuition rate for later when I am taking just NAU courses?

    A. Participation in the CCC2NAU program will not “lock in” the university tuition rate currently in effect. If this changes for any students at some future date, the CCC2NAU adviser will notify program participants. The university does have a guaranteed tuition rate that remains unchanged for eight (8) semesters for degree-seeking students (Flagstaff campus only). Learn more about the Pledge tuition rate at http://home.nau.edu/admissions/ourpledge.asp.

Q: Where will I apply for and receive financial aid?

    A. While you are a CCC student, your financial aid eligibility will be determined and any awards of aid made by the CCC financial aid office. Until you complete your move to NAU, you are not eligible to apply for financial aid at NAU (including NAU scholarships).

Q: Can I park for free?

    A. On CCC campuses be sure to get and display a current permit (obtain the permit from College Security). For fees and process for obtaining parking permits at CCC, visit http://www.coconino.edu/Safety/parkingpermits.htm.
At NAU a student must purchase a student parking permit to park on campus. Permits vary in price and are available for the academic year, each semester, summer only, or for daily use. The CCC2NAU participants can purchase special, $2 daily passes. For more information visit the Parking & Shuttle Services office in the Centennial Building, 113 Dupont Ave, go online at www.nau.edu/parking, or call (928) 523-6623. As parking on NAU campus is limited and purchasing a pass will not guarantee you a parking spot, alternative methods of transportation are encouraged.

Q: How do I know if there is an emergency or weather that closes NAU or CCC?

    A. Both NAU and CCC will work individually and in collaboration to notify all of their students of any emergency. Closures due to weather are always published in phone messages, websites, and announced on television and radio.
NAU offers emergency text notification. Go to http://home.nau.edu/naualert/ to register your cell phone. You can also receive weather alerts by calling NAU Now Line at (928)523-0007.

    A. Your NAU e-mail address is the official communication means for the program. Make sure you check your e-mail inbox regularly for any new messages.

Q: What information and services are online, and how do I access them?

    A. For CCC, go to www.coconino.edu, and chose what Web4 (which is short for “web for students and faculty”). From there, use your CCC ID number and PIN (which starts out as your date of birth) to access online services. Those services include registration, payment of tuition, class schedule information, self-service enrollment verifications, financial aid application status, requesting official transcripts, view and update personal information such as address or phone, arranging to pay your tuition in installments, and registering to vote. NAU’s equivalent of the services mentioned above can be accessed by logging into https://www.peoplesoft.nau.edu/.

Q: Who do I contact for help or questions?

    A. If you have any questions about the CCC2NAU program or services and programs that are available to you as the program participant, contact the CCC2NAU advisor who can be reached at (928) 226-4257 and ccc2nau@coconino.edu.
